Tropical Spirulina Smoothie

This smoothie is extra filling from the addition of a Creative Nature Tropical Treat Bar which crams a whole bunch of superfood goodness into its cold-pressed ginger and Barley Grass detox flapjack bar. It adds body, extra nutrition and flavour to an already delicious and goodness packed smoothie, especially good for workout fuel or for an extra dose of energy before a long day.

I love the minimal ingredients in these bars which also boast being free of sugar, syrup, sweeteners, preservatives, dairy, GMO’s, wheat and soya. So not only are they impressively delicious, healthy and vegan but also suitable for most by being free of some of the most common allergens. Of course these bars are great for snacking on as they are but I just love how they can boost a smoothie or your morning oats – by breaking it up and sprinkling over. These are truly versatile bars of goodness.

Why not encourage even the smallest children to enjoy smoothies? They could get motivated with one of the online cooking games by Poki like Mickey’s Blender Bonanza before learning to help you in real life!

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups fresh or frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/4 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 Tropical Superfoods Bar
  • 1 tbsp spirulina powder
  • 1/2 cup ice or filtered water

Method:

Blend all the ingredients together in a high speed blender like the Froothie Optimum 9200. A regular blender may need more liquid and longer time to sufficiently blend. Pour into glasses, drink and feel amazing!
