Don’t you just love it when things just happen to be vegan? Accidentally vegan I guess. Case in point; the new Market Deli Range of potato, tortilla and pita chips*.
The range was created with a view to appeal to the adult population looking for a more advanced and interesting flavour hit in a savoury snack. Smart enough for serving to guests with wine or elderflower pressé as opposed to the childrens’ lunchbox classics which carry all the nostalgia but less of the class.
The range prizes itself on it’s proud use of real ingredients which aim to allow discovery of the authentic flavours of Europe’s finest markets and delis.
The entire range is naturally flavoured, with no artificial preservatives or colours and no MSG.

Roasted Red Chilli with Mediterranean Sundried Tomato Tortilla Chips
Both the flavours of tortilla chip have that signature nutty, toasty flavour and crunch that we all know and love. They are also multi seed and grain, made with a blend of Corn, Maize Starch, Buckwheat, Millet Seeds and Brown Rice for extra flavour and wholegrain goodness.
The flavour of the Roasted red chilli and sundried tomato is deep enough that you don’t need a pot of salsa to dip into, the flavours are authentic and rich transporting you to the Mediterranean sunshine.
Anglesey Sea Salt with Cracked Black Pepper Tortilla Chips
The subtle, perfectly seasoned, savoury flavour is the best for dunking out of the whole range. It offers a great salty hit with just enough peppery spice for an addictive taste sensation, perfect with houmous and salsa, you won’t be able to have just one!
Roasted Garlic with Mediterranean Herbs Pita Chips
The pita chips are thicker and crispier than the tortilla but with a milder base flavour allowing the bold, extravagant seasonings to fully flourish. The flavour is intensely delicious. They are interesting as an uncommon chip in the UK but I think they will soon become jut as popular as it’s tortilla cousin. They are particularly wonderful dunked into a mild, creamy dip such as a smooth guacamole.
Potato Chips with Balsamic Vinegar of Modena
The Potato Chip – the classic.
Thin and crispy and packed with flavour, just as one would expect. Less of a dunker but a fabulously moreish, savoury snack with the perfect fruity zing of he finest balsamic.
The potato and pita chips had this genius resealable packaging, but for some reason the tortilla chips didn’t. It would be better if they all had this perk but overall the packaging is elegantly simple and classy and meets the aim of creating ‘grown up’ snacks beyond the unique flavours.
The products are widely available in the UK in supermarkets. They come in large 165g packages as well as single serve packs of the potato chips. They’d be a fabulous addition to your Christmas party spread!
