Welcome to my blog!

Hi, I’m Poppy and I am totally new to the world of blogs so this is all a bit scary for me!

I am 19, from Surrey, U.K. I am a Fundraising Officer for a charity called StreetInvest which works to support street children around the world through training Street Workers to be the trusted adult in each child’s life. I have been involved in this work since I was fifteen when I first travelled to Sierra Leone. I am also a student, well, on my gap year, I will begin studying for a degree in Development and Politics in September in London.

Apart from that, I am a vegetarian, a complete animal obsessed freak and I have four house bunnies who share my flat with me and my fiancé Mat! Their names are Bobby, Bonnie, Binky and Bella. I will post some pictures of them soon.

My other passion is found in the kitchen! I’ve always been a ‘keen cook’ but in the past year I discovered this amazing love for baking! It began with cake mixes, basic recipes, to following more complicated recipes, to creating my own!

So….that brings me to why I am here, I want to share my kitchen adventures with you and hopefully offer some inspiration to some of you!

I hope you enjoy my new blog.

Thanks Celeste – it’s weird for me to look back – so much changes in just a few years and I have changed so much as a person! 🙂
